Hastings to Fairlight

From Hastings take the A259 Old London Road east to Ore.

From Ore turn right at the Co-op following the Fairlight Road, past the Hastings Country Park on your right, then down Battery Hill.

At the bottom of Battery Hill is a painted sign on the left indicating the entrance to Fairlight village on the right.

Enter the village along Waites Lane, then take the first left into Broadway. You will notice St. Peter’s Church on the corner, then pass the Village Hall on your right.

Continue to the end of Broadway and at the T junction turn left, then after a few metres right into Rockmead Road.

Rockmead is a narrow residential road.

Oak Lodge, number 24 Rockmead Road is at the far end on the left.

There are black, high metal gates at the entrance  please feel free to open the gates and park on the gravel forecourt in front of the house.

It is about 5 miles from Hastings to Fairlight and the journey should take less than 20 minutes.

Rye and Winchelsea to Fairlight

From Rye take the A259 New Winchelsea Road, turning left to Winchelsea Beach along Sea Road.

Pass Winchelsea Beach along the Pett Level Road, then past The Smuggler pub on your left at Pett Level. 4 to 5 minutes drive will take you past Wakehams Farm Shop and Rosemary Lane to your right.

As you approach Fairlight Village you will see the Fairlight sign on a post to your right.

Turn left at the sign into Waites Lane, then take the first left into Broadway. You will notice St. Peter’s Church on the corner, then pass the Village Hall on your right.

Continue to the end of Broadway and at the T junction turn left, then after a few metres right into Rockmead Road.
